Petervarys Share Cycling Adventures

JACKSON: The Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum is hosting its final Jackson Hole Stories: Voices of the Valley program on March 8. Extreme cyclists Jay and Tracey Petervary share stories of their endurance bicycling adventures. This program was initially scheduled in January but had to be rescheduled due to a winter storm.

Jay and Tracey’s successful cycling contests include the Iditabike Trail Invitational in Alaska on snowbikes; the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route—3,000 miles on a tandem bike; and the Race Across America. Jay won the Iditabike competition in 2011 while on his “No Idle Tour.” The former Jackson residents now reside in Victor, Idaho.

For those who are unable to attend, the Petervarys’ storytelling program will be live-streamed on the Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum’s website, www.jacksonholehistory.org, and on the organization’s Facebook page.

Admission is free for current Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum members; memberships are available at the door. Non-member admission is $5 at Old Wilson Schoolhouse programs. The series is funded in part by a grant from the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole. Sponsors include McDonald’s, Teton Heritage Builders, Teton Motors, the Old Wilson Schoolhouse, and Wells Fargo.
