MEET THE MASTER BOOTMAKER: JIM BRAINARD

Jim will demonstrate stitching techniques and discuss the full process of making custom cowboy boots. Tour the gallery with the man who built the exhibit and hear about his dedication to cowboy traditions. Custom boot fitting appointments available — $500 deposit required. MEET THE MASTER BOOTMAKERS: DAN AND JULIA SCHWARZ
Learn how this couple collaborates to make custom boots and cowboy gear, and how they are teaching the trade in Dillon, MT. Also, demonstration of in-stitching techniques. Custom boot fitting appointments available. Location: Back Patio.

MEET THE JH HAT MAKER: CHRISTY SING ROBERTSON    
Bring your lunch and visit with Jackson’s well- known hat maker while she demonstrates the early steps of making a felt hat. Learn about the history of cowboy hats, how they evolve, and why she began making them. Custom fitting appointments available during the day. Location: Back Patio.

Meet outside on the History Museum Boardwalk for a short walk to Christy’s workshop. See behind-the-scenes hatmaking with her team. Location: Off site tour.
