Beers & Banter: 100th Anniversary of Paul Petzoldt’s First Grand Teton Climb

7 p.m. | Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

History Jackson Hole celebrates the 100th anniversary of Paul Petzoldt’s first Grand Teton climb with stories, never-before seen photos, and a film clip from historians Kimberly Geil and Ron Yates.

On July 25, 1924, Petzoldt made his first ascent of the Grand Teton, at age 16, with friend and climbing partner Ralph Herron. Yates found the photos of that day from Herron’s camera which will be shared with the public during the event before they go on sale later this year. Geil will moderate and provide historical context as the Exum History Project founder. Petzoldt climbing partners Andy and Nancy Carson will also be on hand for a Q&A following the presentation.

Free and open to the public. Early arrival suggested; limited capacity on Rooftop Deck. Beverages are available for a donation.

Many thanks to event sponsor Jackson Hole Traveler!
