Sign Up for Teton Pass History Trail Hike

Join the Bridger-Teton National Forest and the Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum for a three-mile interpretive hike down the History Trail that begins on Teton Pass and ends at Trail Creek. The hike is scheduled for Friday, September 7, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

With the guidance of Linda Merigliano, recreation program manager for the Bridger Teton National Forest, and Karen Reinhart, curator of education and outreach for the Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum, hikers will travel back in time on a hike that retraces much of the Old Wagon Route from the top of Teton Pass to Trail Creek Trailhead. The history of Teton Pass is rich and full of interesting stories. Participants will hear tales of settlers traversing the pass, an early ski area, cattle drives and more. In addition, there are intriguing relics of days gone by along the recently constructed trail.

Registered hikers meet at the Post Office in Wilson at 9:00 am and carpool to the History Trail. No dogs please. Wear good hiking shoes for this moderate hike, and bring along water and snacks. Most of the trail is downhill hiking. Participation limited to 15 people. Please sign up with Linda Merigliano, 739-5428.
