Families Plant a Spring Greenhouse

A program designed to fight spring fever, the Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum invites families to learn about starting vegetable seeds indoors on Saturday, April 14. A guest gardener will be the featured storyteller. Participants during April’s Second Saturday Family Fun program will plant their own mini greenhouse using recycled materials—a project to take home and watch grow. Families are invited to the history museum classroom, 225 N. Cache from 11:00 a.m. to noon. This is the fourth family program offered by museum staff this winter.

The final Second Saturday program this spring is held on May 12. Children and their families will learn about American Indians and sew a pair of moccasins.

Suggested donation is $5 per child or $10 per family. Child must be accompanied by an adult(s). Please contact Brenda Roberts, 733-2414 x 201, for more information.

Children’s programs continue this summer. Beginning June 19, the history museum hosts Terrific Tuesday programs geared for children going into kindergarten through fourth grades. These hour-long programs are akin to a mini-summer camp, include a history-themed activity, and are also held at 11:00 a.m. in the museum’s classroom. Terrific Tuesday classes are $5 per child or $10 per family. Adult participation is not necessary but pre-registration is required due to class limit of 15.
